Our trip to France winter tournament By Rashalan Rajh

February 12, 2012

Day 1

It all started at 5 o’clock and getting up was probably the hardest part of the day, when we got to the academy we saw the red mini –bus that would take us on this treacherous journey. I sat next to Ben in the bus, we were getting ready to leave and the expected crowed of parents’ wave of hands and we set off. Time went on in the journey and we all continued on our electronic devices and the inevitable happened someone just had to be sick, well at least  Remahazo  managed to find a plastic seal bag to vomit in. He almost held it up in pride to announce it to the bus. We eventually got there and by there I mean to Dover where we would go on the euro tunnel to get to France. By that time it was around 10:00 and we had already stopped twice, once for food and once for a bathroom break. While in the euro tunnel Coach Mo played a nasty trick on us pretending that we wouldn’t be able to breathe well so we had to breathe in a special way and that water might get into the...

January 15, 2012

The first game this year for Bristol olympic was a cup game vs Bristol city supporters club (from division A).

Bristol olympic were determined to win the game as they trained very hard for this match three days a week doing crosses, headers, shooting, even our star keeper was doing his bit with our goalie trainer, coach Riccardo.

THE MATCH.

as soon as the whistle blew every player on the pitch was fighting for the ball, consistently going back and fourth, end to end, goal to goal, it was a matter of who wanted it the most.

Bristol olympic were playing their passing game as Bristol city supporters were also passing the ball but not as effectively as olympic, as we were making key passes and through balls for the strikers getting shots at goal but there was no goal as their defenders were as good as our defense but not better.

0:0 the first half and most of the players were tired but the words of coaches Leon, Milton and Mommainais had given all the players a boost of energy for the next 40 minutes of the second half. As the whistle blew for the second half every Bristol...

September 26, 2011

18th September 2011 Bristol Olympic sporting club u14 v Henbury colts Bristol Olympic having a strong squad of 16 players kicked off at 10:30 at there home ground. The pace of the game from the whistle seemed to have more passing and more movement than lately with Olympics have a lot of possession, 10minutes in to the game Royal took the ball past the defence and past the keeper to score. The Olympic supporters were optimistic about the game, have a growing squad and enjoying the return of some players bringing new challenges and strengths to the team. The game played as it began with a lot of passing and attacking increased, at 10:50 there was a lot of confusion around the goal mouth as Olympic were pushing for there second goal, supporters from both sides were very tense for different reasons, however Y Hussein managed to score, Olympics were not over confident however and remained focused. Going into the second half Buckley was not finding much action (much the same as Wednesdays game). friendly match report, by Jake Buckley

September 4, 2011

Bristol Olympic vs Fishponds Old Boys, under 14 friendly, 24th AugustOlympics were looking hopeful going into this match with their last 2 meeting being a successful win for the olympic boys. But that was not the case as today fishponds old boys got their 4-1 victory over a disadvantage team consisting of a nine year old playing and still being one man down in this friendly encounter. The first half had the olympic fans watch as the match began to warm up. It was an even encounter to begin with, while both keepers had their fair shout of saves, the score ending 0-0 at half time.  In the second half it began to go downhill for the olympics. As the boys looked most dangerous fishponds had their quick counter attack leading to number 1 Buckley who had no chance in saving the old boys first goal. After that the boys kept the heads up knowing they needed a goal they still consistently went for the goal but couldn't finish with Walker and Royal coming short. Even though the defense worked hard they couldn't keep out the second goal which came from a header. A goal came... [More]
